One of UMO’s most interesting tours in spring 2012 will be an exploration of the world of film music. ‘The Big Band in the Movies – Cinematic Jazz from the 1950s to Today’ features nostalgic and exciting music familiar from Hollywood movies. The vocal soloist is Johanna Iivanainen, and the concerts will be hosted by film expert Peter von Bagh.

The programme includes well-known works of film music from the 1950s to the present day, from films such as A Streetcar Named Desire, Anatomy of a Murder, Touch of Evil, The Pink Panther, Rosemary’s Baby and Black Orpheus, by composers such as Alex North, Lalo Schifrin, Henry Mancini, Elmer Bernstein and Krzysztof Komeda.

PLEASE NOTE: The 7.00 pm concert in Music Centre is sold out. An additional concert will be held at 9.30 pm – tickets are available now!
